Man found dead in car trunk three days after he went missing

Three days af­ter a Princes Town man was re­port­ed miss­ing by rel­a­tives his body was found in the trunk of his ve­hi­cle along Poole Val­ley Road, Rio Claro by po­lice Sat­ur­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, around 3.:40 pm of­fi­cers of the Rio Claro Po­lice Sta­tion re­ceived in­for­ma­tion from mo­torists ply­ing the area of a strange ve­hi­cle, a Sil­ver Grey Syl­phy, parked off the road­way along the Poole Val­ley Road, Rio Claro.

Po­lice of­fi­cers re­spond­ed and on ar­rival saw the parked ve­hi­cle in­tact and se­cured but a foul stench was com­ing from the trunk of the ve­hi­cle.

Ac­cess was gained in­to the trunk and of­fi­cers were greet­ed with a bloat­ed life­less body ly­ing cramped, dressed in blue three-quar­ter pants and a bur­gundy jer­sey.

The body was iden­ti­fied by po­lice by a dri­ver’s per­mit as that of Vishal Ramjohn of St Charles Vil­lage, Princess Town, who was re­port­ed miss­ing since Wednes­day 16 March, 2022, the last day he was seen dri­ving his ve­hi­cle at the home of his sis­ter Nishay Ramjohn of Re­form Vil­lage Gas­par­il­lo.

The body was viewed by Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer and or­dered to a fu­ner­al home from where it will be tak­en to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­ter for post­mortem to de­ter­mine the cause of death.

Vis­it­ing the scene were Asp Jankie, of­fi­cers of Rio Claro CID and of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau.
